SSP Gbl chairs security review meeting at DPO | KNO

Ganderbal, Jul 21 (KNO): In view of the forthcoming Independence Day-2025, SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Ahmad Poswal Monday chaired a security review meeting at the Conference Hall of District Police Office Ganderbal. The meeting was attended by Senior Officers from District Police, CRPF and other CAPFs involved in maintaining law and order and ensuring a secure environment for the upcoming National Event (Independence Day), a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on multiple aspects of the security arrangements, including venue security, intelligence inputs, area domination, patrolling plans, and traffic regulation. Emphasis was laid on real-time coordination among all security agencies, effective deployment of personnel, and vigilant monitoring of all sensitive locations across the district. SSP Ganderbal issued clear directions for strengthening surveillance mechanisms, including the installation of CCTVs, frisking at entry points, and random vehicle checking at various checkpoints. He also stressed on the importance of preventive policing measures, community liaison, and prompt response capabilities in case of any untoward incident. Furthermore, special attention was given to securing the main venue of the Independence Day function, ensuring safe and smooth conduct of rehearsals, and maintaining a peaceful atmosphere across the district in the run-up to the event. SSP Ganderbal reiterated that zero tolerance will be shown towards any element attempting to disrupt peace and that all security arrangements will be put in place in close synergy with civil administration and intelligence wings. The meeting concluded with a joint resolve of all participating agencies to work in complete coordination to ensure a peaceful, safe, and dignified celebration of Independence Day-2025 in the district—(KNO)
